Some of you might know that Izzy is due just 6 days before our 5th wedding anniversary. For the last 9 months or so, I've been telling Alicia that I'm getting her a baby for our anniversary...but today, as an anniversary gift to each other, we upgraded our camera:
This means that, as soon as we figure out how to use it, you might notice an higher quality photographs on this blog.
As for Izzy, she isn't here quite yet and the doctors won't say anything except that it will definitely be by the 20th (that's the day they'll induce).
I think all of you should pick a day and post it in the comments. The winner gets...
...to be right.

Countdown to Izzy's Arrival
Today we had a doctors appointment and was told that we should not expect to have her this weekend, and his guess is within the next three weeks (when I'm due). So he really doesn't know when she is going to come, but at least it is finally almost here.
As for her size, I feel like she is going to be HUGE since I have suddenly started to really pop out. The Dr. predicts she will be around 8lb....
And as of tonight, Mike and I have graduated from "Ready, Set, Deliver." We opted not to get the certificate, but in retrospect it would have been a nice photo for this post. :)

It's hard to tell, but these are, really, very small
So, many people have been asking for more updates, so here we are, back by popular request...
Alicia is doing well, she's tired, sore and ready to have the baby. Izzy is doing well and starting on Friday we're going to the doctor weekly (hopefully we'll have more updates after that).
We've been going to lots of baby classes and our last one is Friday evening. It's been fun and we've learned a lot.
We had the car seats installed, so we're pretty much ready to go (or as ready as we'll ever be).
I'll post again after Friday.

Moses Basket
Well, we are approaching 36 weeks and the final planning has begun (or continued). Tonight we get to tour the hospital during our "Ready, Set, Deliver" class tonight. We are excited to see something beyond the classroom!
Then the real fun of laundry begins! Everything in Izzy's room/closet needs to be cleaned.
Izzy's moses basket came today. She will sleep here for naps and in our room. Thanks Auntie Caitlin for using your connections to get this from the Land of Nod for us!

mommy at 34 weeks
Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she's born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.Lately, mom's back has been hurting, but imagine mine would too if I was carrying a cantaloupe around all the time.
We started our 'Ready, Set, Deliver' classes and both of us learned a lot in the second class (in the first class we had a sub, and you know how that goes - not much learning but lots of 'heads-up-seven-up'). The classes are fun and we've met a pair of couples we like.
Well, got to go, I'm being called to feel our little girl dancing in mom's tummy.
